Rover Mini Beginning Pre-Restoration Restoration Present

Pre-Restoration

The bodywork had to be addressed, as it was in a bad way.  So I decided to have some of the panels replaced and the car re-sprayed to bring the car back to its former glory.  The photos, opposite, show just how bad the rust actually was before the Mini went away for it's two month long restoration.

The back end of the car was in a reasonable condition for it's age, with the exception of the rear valance, only some surface rust needed attention.  The main problems were on the front end.  The scuttle had a hole in it, the A panels were nearly non-existent and there was a lot of rust on the doors, wings, front panel and bonnet.

Before the Mini went off to be restored I also purchased all of the panels which were going to be replaced.  Shown below are two A Panels, a Bonnet, two Wings, two Seam Strips, a Scuttle, a Rear Valance and a Front Panel.  Also, not pictured, a Bootlid and two doors from a 1995 Rover Mini were sent off with the car to the restorer.
